And so, along with the man on the corner prophesying the end of the world, the same ideology held true whenever the mere mention of UFOs and spirits crept into an entertaining conversation at some socialite party for the rich and famous. They had nothing else to talk about, because they had talked about everything else within the scope of their natural realities. Hence, the threshold of the unknown was more tantalizing to tackle and cross. More interesting to note was that these socialite parties were the 'in places' for Hollywood to gather new ideas for box-office sci-fi sellouts. Not forgetting to mention the creation of ingenious cartoons.
How can one forget Robin Williams in "Mork & Mindy" with eggs that never flew. Prior to this were some of the classics such as "My Favourite Martian" by John L. Greene, starring Billy Bixby; "Time Tunnel" and "Lost in Space" by Irwin Allen; and "Battlestar Galactica" by Glen Larson, starring Lorne Greene, Dirk Benedict and Richard Hatch. Just to name a few. But sci-fi rivalry was at its best in those days and a more intelligent television series called, "Star Trek" popped into the scene. The brainchild behind the Star Trek legacy was Gene Roddenberry, a visionary genius in his time, as Star Trek to this day is still holding the popularity vote. And the reason for this lies behind the unfolding realism to much of our today's technology which closely resembles what Roddenberry had visualized for the Star Trek series. How far did Roddenberry see? One can only speculate.
But there seemed to be a common theme to all these sci-fi television shows: Extra-terrestrials, spirits and people being telepathically possessed. One often has to wonder about the origin of thought and how ideas are naturally produced and contrived. Indeed, would it be fair to ascertain that all should fall within the pretext of the imagination? Surely, if one dares to go exploring beyond the threshold of knowledge, "something" has to stimulate and instigate the human consciousness to receive and conjure such "far out" ideas and concepts. Alas, what mysterious forces are at work?
As controversial as such conjecturable realities do seem to appear, unbiased minds are needed to research these phenomenons objectively, without ridicule or poking humorous fun, in order to obtain a more precise picture in deciphering the fact from fiction. Otherwise, we'll continue going to the movies.

Just now, I saw the photo illustration. I'm glad that you acknowledged Chuck Jones in the copyright.
This article is good, Shan- Lyn. The serious beginning segueing into "My Favorite Martian" and "Lost In Space is great. Very well- written. For many years now, I've been a nightly listener of "Coast to Coast AM" and/ or The Art Bell Show, on am radio. Are you familiar with the show ? It's on hundreds of radio stations. They delve into the subject of UFO's quite frequently. How is the weather up there ? Are you enjoying the summer ? For a long time, I didn't see you on the forums. I'm running behind on replying to comments and attempting to catch- up.

Dear Amanda - I'm presently working on the 'follow-up'. It involves a certain amount of research and to be kept as condensed as possible. Thank you for your interest and yes, I do intend to 'Blow the cover'. ;-)
Dear Chris - Yes, there will be a follow up. Thank you.
I think all of this SHOULD be taken more seriously. If you'll be doing a follow up, I would like to know. Can hardly wait to read. So many people have been in denial for so long. Blow the cover!
It seems that you intend to do a follow up? Would like to see this. Nicely written for an intro.
