As we all know, America Ferrera is the actress who plays Ugly Betty. And unlike her character, America is a very pretty girl in real life. On the show, she plays Betty Suarez, a girl who is a bit homely, kind of naive, but with a heart of gold. She landed a job at, of all places, a high fashion magazine called Mode. During this season, Betty has been dressing a bit more fashionably. She ditched her orange poncho, but still has a long way to go. Also, her love life has had its ups and downs over the seasons. Just recently, her beau Matt left her, so currently she is without a boyfriend. However, on the Ugly Betty finale, there just has to be Betty's wedding. That's very important. I hope the writers are listening to me. I envision the end of the show featuring Betty appearing out of the back of the church, ready to walk down the aisle to "Here Comes The Bride" and she will have been transformed into someone amazingly beautiful and everyone will gasp in awe. I have a very vivid imagination.
In order to have that wedding, we first have to find her the love of her life. I would suggest getting Jake Gyllenhaal to play that part. He's not the handsomest actor out there, (sorry Reese), but he is cute and seems as if he has a matching heart of gold like Betty. I think they would play very well off of each other. Next, Betty would finally get her braces off and we could see her pretty smile. Then she would finally wear contact lenses and be able to see without her glasses. I picture her hair as being long and dark and shining. She will have shed just a few pounds before her big day, and she will be wearing a long beautiful white wedding gown that Amanda, the receptionist, helped her pick out. Amanda has great fashion sense.
Speaking of Amanda, she comes across as not being the brightest bulb in the box, but since she really is a natural at fashion, if I get my way, the finale will find Amanda being sprung from behind the receptionist desk and being promoted to a position that will finally allow her to use her real talents. Amanda is adorable.
Daniel, Betty's boss throughout much of the series, will meet someone he loves more than he loved Molly who died. Because of this new woman, Daniel will stop checking out the assets of all the beautiful models walking in and out of the Mode offices, and permanently turn from a womanizer to a family man with a couple of kids ..... and happy.
Wilhelmina, a cougar-like lady with a high position at Mode, but who's really a sweetie underneath, will finally get to have her main squeeze, Connor. He will have somehow magically emerged from prison and exonerated, because the story will explain that he was only in there due to some mysterious misunderstanding, and he and Wilhelmina will finally be together forever. Then Wilhelmina will be able to have all that great sex with Connor which will make her more pleasant at work. Her underlings will be very happy about that sudden turn of events.
Mark, Wilhelmina's assistant, will also find his life partner while away on a Mode business trip to Milan. His partner will relocate to New York with Mark and the two of them will start their own design company that will be showcased on HGTV. Their company will design a huge beautiful mansion that will be given away in a contest, and Betty Alexander, writer for Associated Content, will be the lucky winner. Hey, this is my fantasy finale, so I can dream, can't I?
Betty also has a wonderful family back home in Queens. They must have happy endings as well. I love her sister, Hilda. She was always the pretty one, and you'd think her and Betty would have butted heads over that, but no. They've always supported and loved one another. At the moment, Hilda is rekindling her relationship with her son's baby daddy. His name is Bobby and he's a reformed bad boy. In my finale, we will know for a fact that Bobby really has grown up and really will stay devoted to Hilda. Right now, we sort of have our doubts, but the finale will somehow convince us of Bobby's new maturity level. We'll just keep telling ourselves that we believe.
Hilda's son, Justin, will land himself a huge role on Broadway and will become famous and wealthy. He'll buy his pretty Mom and his reformed Dad a gigantic penthouse in Manhattan. Just for fun, Hilda will start her own high profile beauty salon and will only work when she feels like it. The gigantic penthouse will have its own wing and will also house Papa Suarez and his new lady friend who just happens to be a famous chef. Papa's recipes rival her professional ones, and in their state-of-the art kitchen, they will have cook-offs every weekend which the rest of the family will enjoy immensely. Oh, and Papa Suarez and the lady chef will fall madly in love too. Of course.
Yes, in the grand finale of Ugly Betty, all of Betty's family and friends will be there in the church pews waiting for Betty to make her entrance and walk down the aisle. The familiar strains of "Here Comes The Bride" will start playing, and our hearts will skip a beat as we all turn to watch Betty emerge. The double doors in the back of the church will slowly open, and Betty will appear and be absolutely radiant. With her arm firmly held in place by her proud Papa, Betty will make her way down the aisle towards a smiling Jake Gyllenhaal. It will be a Betty that no one has ever seen before and many gasps of surprise will fill the church. Betty will be a vision. After all the years of being the dowdy, plain-looking Betty who struggled with self-esteem issues all through her life, this will be the Betty she really was the whole time. And America Ferrera will flash her great big smile and be astonishingly beautiful and her and Jake Gyllenhaal will live happily ever after. The end.
Whew! Fantasizing is exhausting.... but fun.

Post a CommentA great fantasy finale!!
Fun read, I don't watch this but that would be awesome!
I caught this show a couple of times and I thought it was pretty good. I'm just not much of a TV watcher. I'm with you, though, on ending a show. Years ago, that never happened. I like closure. A lot of people live in Queens in those shows, don't they?
