ULTA Cheek Color - Blush that Will Make Others Swoon

Gwendolyn Taylor
My current blush supply was running down to my last compact so I went to my local ULTA beauty store to stock up. That's when I came across their cheek color line and was immediately intrigued. I have tried their automatic eyeliners and nail polishes and have been impressed with their quality so I decide to give their blushes a try.

Their blushes come in 12 different shades: "Infatuation" (rose pink), "Afterglow" (peachy-pink with a hint of shimmer), "Flush" (medium peach), "Exposed" (peach), "Sweet Cheeks" (light pink), "Heartbreaker" bright peachy-pink), "Afternoon Delight" (light peach), "Girlie" (light peachy-pink), "Adore" (plum pink), "Karma" (beige peach), "Sunkissed" (medium beige pink), and "Fame" (dark peach). I was debating between the shades "Afterglow" and "Heartbreaker", because peachy-pinks look better on my skin tone (I'm Asian). I finally settled on "Afterglow" because the hint of shimmer got to me and thought it might make my face look brighter.

All I can say is that I love, love, love this blush! It applies smoothly and a little goes a long way because the color is rich and stays put. I love how the slight hint of shimmer adds a little bit of sparkle to my face, but is so subtle that it doesn't look garish or anything. This particular shade also makes me look my awake and natural looking compared to the blush I used to use from a different brand.

This product usually retails for $6.50. However, ULTA always has sales on their own makeup product line. The best deals are their "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" offers (so each would cost $3.25), or even better one or twice a year they have their "$3 Cheek Color" sale. On top of that you can use their coupons which are available weekly or bi-weekly in their ads or online.

These come in snap lid compact case weighing 2.5 grams/0.10 oz each. Each blush inside comes imprinted with ULTA signature logo, making the product appear more sophisticated. I only have two complaints about this product. One is that it does not come with a small applicator blush, so you will have to go and buy an individual one. I just ended up using one that I already had. The other complaint, is that this product, like most other makeup, contains talc which has been getting a negative limelight in the health awareness world. Other than that, this blush is fantastic and is a must buy and a must try!
