Needing eyeshadow, I was immediately amazed at the color selection. Whatever your color-family preference, you'll find it. In addition, their shadows can accommodate whatever look you want...flat-out sparkly, shimmery, and matte.
The eyeshadows are packaged in small pots with see-through flip-top lids. They're about 2" in circumference, and only about 1/2" thick, so you don't have to worry about these taking up much room in your makeup bag or handbag. There is no included applicator with these shadows.
To apply, I use either an applicator or my finger. Once I have the color in place, I gently blend with my finger. These shadows blend like a dream. No matter how awkward you may be with application, or whether you're an expert, you'll notice that blending is extremely easy. A light touch is all that is required.
The colors are true...meaning that what you see is what you get. Of course, a lighter application will yield lighter results, etc. If you are looking to intensify the color, simply dampen your applicator first. You'll still be able to blend this very easily. If you'd like to use any color as a liner, as I sometimes do, use a liner brush or a cotton swab.
I own many colors of Ulta eyeshadow, and have yet to be disappointed in any. I have each kind; sparkly, shimmery, and matte. The colors containing sparkle are not your 14-year-old makeup sparkle. The sparkles highlight without taking away from the true color. For example, I have a white color that has subtle blue sparkles in it that are the color of my eyes. I'm a pale blonde, and I can get away with wearing a white shadow only if I like!
I've worn these shadows for over a year and have yet for any one of them to flake, fade, or most importantly to me, crease. I do not wear any sort of primer on my lids whatsoever, so the wearability is due to the superiority of the shadows themselves. Once I've applied the shadow, I don't have to worry about reapplication or repair during the day or evening. Despite it's fantastic wearability, I have no trouble removing this shadow while washing my face at night. I just use my regular skin cleanser. No need for a special eye-makeup remover.
As you can see, there are many things I love about these shadows, but one of my favorites is the cost. Even if I pay full price for a shadow, I only pay $7, and these shadows go a long, long way. I've rarely pay full retail as Ulta often puts their products on sale. The sales are usually buy one, get one free, or at least buy one, get one 50% off. Either way, it's a steal.
I definitely recommend trying Ulta Eyeshadow. I find them to be the best of the best.
