Natural Remedies for Exterior Ailments: Acne
Our skin has oil secreting glands and tiny hair follicles inside of it. Severe acne has actually been considered a disease because the follicles and glands can become infected. When this happens the glands secrete more oil which captures all kinds of pollutants and produces pimples, blackheads, and pustules. The most common areas affected by acne are the face, the back and the chest. If the condition is left untreated there could be permanent scaring and pits or craters left indented into the flesh.
By using a natural remedy of essential oils such as lavender, witch hazel and tea tree on a cotton swab and dabbing your skin, the antibacterial properties can clear up the tiny infections that are brewing in your pores.
There is also a natural remedy rinse you can splash or dab by cotton swab on your face in the form of a tea. By brewing green tea and using after every time you wash your face it can help close your pores after pulling the pollutants. Calendula flower can also provide the same cleansing and toning relief from acne ailments.
By making a simple ointment of pure aloe gel , secreted from an Aloe Vera plant, mixed with glassy hyacinth, star of Bethlehem, and the essence of crab apple can clear blemishes easily even in the most extreme of cases, making this another great natural remedy.
If you want to help cure this condition by diet you can do that as well. By eating an overload of fiber, raw/steamed vegetables, leafy greens, whole grain breads, low fat dairy products and taking supplements high in B vitamins, zinc, vitamin E and beta carotene, this can do the trick as well. This method keeps the pores clean from the inside out instead of the topical aspects previously mentioned. When I say "overload" I simply mean more then you would usually have in any given day. Please keep in mind that a healthy body needs proteins that can only come from meat so for overall health I do not recommend a "no meat diet".
Natural Remedies for Exterior Ailments: Blisters
These are annoying little things that in some cases can carry a large amount of pain with it. They can be created by doing a lot of work, by heat, fire, irritation, allergic reaction etc. Many people believe that popping a blister is a good thing to do...Boy are they wrong. The inside of a blister is a sterile environment that is germ free. The body has produced liquid inside of the blister to heal and repair damage and to form new layers of skin. If the blister pops then it has been opened to germs, bacteria, viruses, and other pollutants that can cause serious infection.
If your blister has been opened there are things you can put on it that can help kill any infections that are beginning to manifest. Lavender essential oil has wonderful antibacterial properties. By applying a few drops and putting a band aid over the infected area you have secured the wound in another sterile environment.
Aloe Vera can help form new skin and close the wound up. Blisters can often be treated with a mixture of both lavender and aloe for a speedy recovery. If you do not have this immediately available but do have access to vitamin E supplements around your home then you may puncture the gel cap containing the pure vitamin E extract and squeeze on the blister. This will basically act in the same manner as the aloe.
Natural Remedies for Exterior Ailments: Bruises
Bruises are ugly little marks that can be caused by any trauma to the skin no matter how big or small. Contusions are discoloration of the skin without making a puncture or open wound. It is due to the blood vessels and capillaries underneath the skin that have been broken and leak blood in the tissue in the surrounding areas. People who are overweight or on certain prescription medications, or lack certain nutritional benefits such as iron etc are more likely to develop these discolorations than others.
As a natural remedy you can rub helichrysum essential oils on to the bruise a few times a day and it will usually go away within a day or so. The oil from the arnica flower can help as well. Supplements that can help speed healing of a bruise are Vitamin K, bioflavonoids, and vitamin C. If you are already taking these supplements use more than the average dose.
