Ultimate Stupid Act: Woman DUI Chatting with 911 While Still Driving

According to Dictionary.com it gives several but for our purposes the first two are relevant.

1.lacking ordinary quickness and keenness of mind; dull.

2.characterized by or proceeding from mental dullness; foolish; senseless

Well that does sum it up quite nicely. But what are some practical examples of stupid?

It could be so many things. For instance it could be called stupid to touch the stove to see if it is hot? Well sure that would be kind of dumb unless you were only a small child.

Well what about running with the bulls? Gigantic bulls with really big horns, running behind you and very willing to kill you, and calling this a sport. Yep, I think that is really dumb. Not intelligent, actually stupid.

What about if you worked for months planning the perfect murder, every detail is well thought out, you make sure you have the perfect alibi, the time comes the day is right, the hour is now... you don't wear gloves. Your fingerprints are on absolutely everything! The dead body, all around the dead body, the murder weapon, everything. Yep! Stupid.

Okay so now you understand what I think stupid is, maybe you agree. But in all honesty we haven't even gotten close to the ultimate definition of stupidity

In Michigan, yes my state, a 27 year old woman was drunk as a skunk and behind the wheel of her car, actually driving the car while she was dialing 911 so she could chat for about 20 whole minutes with them about her driving drunk. In fact she spoke with them long enough for the 911 dispatcher to be able to assist the police to arrive, pull her over and arrest her. She even told the 911 dispatcher that she was drunk and she shouldn't be driving. Are you seeing it? Is that stupid?

Yes! On so many levels!

First, she has been drinking so much that she is actually drunk, not intelligent.

Second, she was driving the vehicle while she was intoxicated. Taking not only her own life but the life of anyone else on the road she might run into... literally.

Third, she called 911 so she could chat it up. Monopolizing a resource for people that actually have a legitimate emergency, and making a confession that ended up getting her arrested. Which was stupid but at least she did get her just desserts.

So what is the moral of this story? Get a handle on what is stupid and ....avoid it. It just isn't a good look for anyone.
