Un Vs. Anti

Un vs. Anti. I learned a while back that there is a difference between something being unscriptural and being anti-scriptural. If I say, Jane Jones-Smith went to Wal-Mart and bought some solar lighting. The statement is unscriptural, it could be a true statement, but it is unscriptural. It is unscriptural because it is not found in the Holy Scriptures.

It is not anti-scriptural. If it were anti-scriptural, the statement would be against or anti something the scripture says. Christians put their faith in Jesus Christ, those who are against Jesus Christ are anti-Jesus Christ or anti-Christ.

I often hear a lot of radio talk show hosts (no it's not Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity or the popular TV hosts, though they may do it too) talk about a particular policy or idea as being unconstitutional.

The idea of taxation without representation is not unconstitutional; in fact the phrase is in the constitution, the U.S. Constitution. However, without the word "No" in front of it "taxation without representation" is anti-constitutional.

Those of us who are pro-life refer to unborn children, not anti-born children. That's what we (or at least I) think the other side is, and I use to belong to the other side.

When you play card games on your computer, games like Solitaire, Free Cell or Spider Solitaire, you can often undo a move. You usually have no desire to anti-do a move in these computerized card games.

If you are playing the chess you may want to undo one of your chess moves, you may want to hope your opponent anti-wins. Or to rephrase what I just said, you may hope, in a chess or checker match that your opponent does not win. You are anti-your opponent winning the game or match. Do you notice someone and tell them their shoes are untied or anti-tied, do you tell someone they are anti-zipped?

So to the wonderful Radio Show Hosts Trey Ware, Jack Riccardi, Kevil Wall and Chad Benson (plus anyone I may be missing) on KTSA 550 in San Antonio remember Karen , Elaine and Taylor may be unconstitutional or unscriptural (they are not mentioned anywhere in the constitution or Holy Scriptures) but they (probably) are not anti-constitutional or anti-scriptural.
