I've even heard they call me the "black cat," and not as a racial comment. Besides office politics, Tommy had become my friend. I wait for the piece of garbage to even notice me before taking aim. I want to be there, looking him in the eye, as I take his life. Just as he finally looks, and I squeeze off a shot, one of his body guards notices. While I'm certain my shot got the bastard between his eyes, the bodyguard's bullet...

"So, how did you enjoy the dual corporeal experience? Were you satisfied this time? We have much work to do," asked L-14's production partner unit. "Can we please abandon this folly of meddling in these Terran life-forms? Their bodies felling life trying to fly in mud."

She was not happy on this assignment, but what else is a sentient power to do besides work? Some entertainment was called for occasionally. Besides the value of new neural connections, and the learning experience, it simply felt pleasant to remember the sensation of sun on the skin. "I truly appreciate the added flavor of a dual human experience, dear one. Such thoughtfulness as yours does make the life of an Influencor better. I'm fortunate to be assigned with you."

You suddenly realize, just one more year of maintenance for these slow, primitive human minds, and the species may well end up being the next to avoid the nuclear threshold scenario, which so often wipes other worlds. If successful, this would make the third civilization both L-14 and Wv-768 had led towards the community. Such result only come from those teams assigned by Home Council, who work with an effort of epic proportions. Wv-768 reminds you it's only a moment of bliss more before you must be at the human's "United Nations" assembly. "These primitive creatures and their antiquated concepts," you tell yourself amused.
