Unclaimed Money, Property or Bonds Waiting for You (Link to All States)

Lost Money Just Waiting for Your Search!

Roz Zurko
"Good Morning America" started an online frenzy this morning with their "Unclaimed Treasury Bonds" segment. "Unclaimed Money" searches soon followed online and people are looking for money that may have been forgotten.

This money comes in the form of unclaimed apartment deposits, forgotten bank accounts, the unclaimed contents of a safety deposit box for not only themselves, but for deceased relatives. People die and did not disclose they had a savings, checking, IRA or even a safety deposit box and it sits in unclaimed property accounts for which ever state the person had the account or property in.

While the state's handle any unclaimed money or property for their residents, the federal government handles the savings bonds. These were the bonds that decades ago were promoted for sale, everywhere you looked, even in a movie theater. It was the patriotic thing to do, invest in the US.

With the way the economy is today, any little bit helps and from what "Good Morning America" reported on this morning, many people have more than just a little bit of money sitting unclaimed.

Connecticut's unclaimed property site is very easy to navigate an allows you to look up any name you would like to, it also provides you names that may be spelled different, but close to the original spelling.

Don't forget, just one letter out of place could change a last name greatly, so it is important to check spellings close to the last name you are seeking. People misspell names all the time and this could mean the difference between you finding the unclaimed property or the bonds.
