Uncle Buck Horror Movie Trailer
What is there not to like about this video? Firstly, it takes one of the best John Candy films of all time and uses actual dialog and footage to totally re-envision the preview for it. In particular the use of the Candy at the piano playing the Twilight Zone theme and the wielding of the hatchet were quite smart. The clip shows just how easy it is to make the mood of an image so different just by slowing it down and playing some haunting music underneath it.
The music definitely sells the fake trailer's authenticity as well. The ominous beginning and the almost galloping finish help to create a dark and sinister undertone to the whole thing. The trailer is so good I'd actually pay good money to see the entire film re-cut and scored as a horror film.
