I lay in bed awake watching you sleep so silently.

Feeling so lucky to have you with me.

I'm not a rich man and can't give you everything.

Except the promise this isn't just a fling.

Sometimes a heart can question just where it stands.

But, when it comes to my heart, I know exactly what it demands.

It tells me to quite literally

Love you unconditionally.

Your soft brown hair always amazes me but, if it ever should turn gray.

You don't need to worry, I'll be more than willing to stay.

Just like a diamond that ages but continues to shine

I'll still want you to be mine.

I know we'll have our disagreements and our fights.

And we may never figure out who is wrong and who is right.

But, I know I'll forgive all your transgressions for free

I can't see into the future and know what's in store.

But I know I'll enjoy the ride, no matter what the score.

I don't know if we'll grow old together or if you'll eventually leave me.
