UNCORK'D was founded by a local Newnan, Georgia resident, Dominick Ravo and his mother, Connie. Together, they have worked hard to create an inviting atmosphere and fine dining experience for locals in the area. They first began serving just dinner but have recently opened for lunch.
My first visit to UNCORK'D brought many pleasant surprises. I dropped in for a quick lunch while I was downtown in Newnan, Georgia. Connie Ravo provided a warm and welcoming greeting. I asked to sit at the bar since I was dining alone. She directed me to my seat and introduced me to her husband who also works at this family business. Dominick, her son, is actually one of the chefs and was busy preparing meals in the kitchen.
I ordered a ½ sliced rib-eye sandwich along with a Greek salad. It was mouth-watering delicious and to my surprise Dominick included some freshly prepared homemade potato chips on the side. It was a perfect and satisfying lunch. The best part of the lunch experience is that they have a "pick two" lunch special. You can select any two items off the lunch menu for $5.99 which also includes tea or a soft drink.
Before departing from UNCORK'D, Connie invited me on a personal tour of the entire restaurant. She let me know that on weekends I should call ahead to reserve a special table if I have a preference. Live music is provided on Saturdays. The wine list is extensive and full of variety. Likewise, the menu has lots of choice and offerings. The Ravos actually change the menu every three months. Currently the lunch menu features a house salad, Caesar salad, Greek salad, Caprese salad, and chopped ham and turkey salad. Lunch sandwiches are served on honey wheat, challah bread, focaccia, or bread du jour. Specialty sandwiches are fried green tomato BLT, club, sliced rib-eye, Gouda grilled cheese, honey smoked ham and Swiss, and sausage pepper and onion hoagie. Soups include a choice of roasted roma tomato bisque, French onion with Gruyere croutons, and soup du jour. There are also daily specials that vary each day.
I look forward to joining them for dinner sometime soon. I have heard that their pan seared crab cakes and oysters Rockefeller are quite a treat. Likewise, their Georgia brown braised quail is also supposedly a hit. If you are ever in Coweta County or Newnan, Georgia, stop in at UNCORK'D for lunch or dinner. They are located only 35 miles southwest of Atlanta at 9 East Court Square in Newnan, Georgia.
