Under Pressure to Get Pregnant: Khloe Kardashain Speaks Out

Mary Thatcher
The April 2011 issue of Life & Style magazine has a rather unusual cover in that it has not one pregnant celebrity but three female celebrities on it: Khloe Kardashian, Kim Zolciak, and Britney Spears. Upon first look at these actresses, they appear to be much too young to be getting pregnant. Instead of producing top quality movies, Hollywood is instead turning out lots of babies which are constantly advertised on the covers of entertainment magazines positioned by the checkout counter at the grocery store. As usual, ladies like Britney and Kim who are pregnant reveal they are under society's pressure to breed, even though it is more accurate to say they have made the decision to have babies. Having never been pressured by anyone to make babies even though I am married, I fail to understand why any other woman would feel like they are being forced to have babies they might not really want. Since marriage is no longer a prerequisite for having children in our society, it is unfathomable as to why women, especially the rich and famous, would give in to such pressure in the name of conformity.

Khloe stated that she feels like she is under pressure from everyone around her in order to start a family. Apparently she and her husband Lamar are attempting to have children, but without any luck so far. Then poor Kim has her own problems in dealing with her co-star NeNe Leakes on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." NeNe has expressed absolutely zero interest in Kim's pregnancy. Of course, NeNe might also perceive Kim as being pregnant just to get special attention, as some women will do. Like Life & Style magazine stated, baby drama is exactly what all of these pregnant women eventually experience at some point the more they make public their physical condition.

Well, you know what they say about people who give in to peer or social pressure of any kind: that such people lack integrity and thew ability to stand up for themselves if they do not want to do something. The only people Khloe, Kim, and Britney are making happy are the pro-natalists, not themselves nor their families. They are in for a rude awakening when the time comes for the babies to be born. Soon they will have to realize there is nothing glamorous in giving birth or caring for needy babies, and that the baby drama that comes out of Hollywood every day is nothing special to waste time and energy over.
