Undercover Boss, Season 2, Episode 15 Sees Mack Trucks CEO Denny Slagle Struggle with Blue Collar Work
Denny Slagle Has Trouble with Mack Trucks Forklift Duty on Undercover Boss, Season 2, Episode 15
In Hagerstown, Maryland, at an engine assembly plant, he meets Tracy, an engineer. She's got 2:34 to do her job assembling her part of the engine, which she is on a 140 engine daily quota. The head honcho has a lot of trouble remembering and implementing all the steps correctly and expediently, and it holds up the rest of the engineers. Tracy finds refuge in her job and is a survivor of a heart attack, the result of stress and worrying. She had to relocate from South Carolina after that plant shut down, and misses home.
The Mack Trucks CEO next goes to Baltimore to a parts distribution center. Denny Slagle works with Mike, a Material Technician and a big sports fan. While attempting to operate a forklift, the Undercover Boss has a lot of mishaps via collisions and bad turns. Mike's boss, referred to as "the warden," is watching the duo like a hawk. When Slagle is turned loose to pick up parts on his own, he has nothing but troubles. Mike has worked for the company for 30-plus years, and feels that the company isn't the same, and worries the company is heading to Mexico (based on alleged Facebook rumors) as revealed on the Season 2, Episode 15 airing.
Denny Slagle Sees a Mack Truck Collection on Undercover Boss, Season 2, Episode 15
In an assembly operations plant in Pennsylvania, Allan shows the head honcho his job, which involves building steel frames for tanks. This task doesn't go well either for Slagle, who is "all thumbs" and slow. Allan has special needs grandchildren who have an MPS disorder (a lack of enzymes means not being able to eliminate waste), which brings him to tears as he talks about their predicament and the added stress on Allan and his wife. Back at the same plant, the Undercover Boss works with a technician named Jeff, who puts bumpers and exhaust backs on Mack Trucks. The CEO causes a little nick damage to one bumper, but doesn't tell Jeff, and hopes the potential owner of that truck will see the damage as "an autograph rather than a problem." Jim owns 13 Mack Trucks, and shows Denny Slagle his collection during lunch break. Jim has done charity work on behalf of veterans.
What Goodies Does Mack Trucks CEO Denny Slagle Hand Out on Season 2, Episode 15 of Undercover Boss?
After the reveal scenes, Tracy gets an innovation award for her oil bonnet plus an all-expense paid vacation to South Carolina for a big family reunion. Mike is told that a town hall meeting will take place with Slagle in Hagerstown, and he's also awarded a $5,000 donation to Hagerstown sports programs plus a family weekend vacation to see the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jeff gets a $5,000 donation in his name to the Fisher House Foundation and a $5,000 gift certificate for buying Mack Truck parts to help restore his collection. Allan gets a $5,000 donation for MPS, plus an all expense-paid trip to Disney World for his grandchildren plus a personal check from Slagle and his wife for medical expenses, as revealed on Undercover Boss, Season 2, Episode 15. The CEO commits to keeping jobs in the USA.

Post a CommentGreat recap Roy! I always manage to miss this somehow, but your articles help to keep me up to date. : )
Missed it, but love to see CEO's get down and work, and then make improvements, come out of their clouds and help the people who make them money. Good one Roy.
I loved the episode of Undercover Boss; especially in light of the fact that we lost my first granddaughter, Hannah who was 17 months old to MPS I or Hurler's Sydrome in 2008. It was such a sad time for all of us so we can certainly understand how hard it is for Allen and his family with his two grandchildren. Thank you for donating to the MPS foundation. God bless all of you.Marlene
We usually watch Undercover Boss but we missed it tonight. Thanks for the recap, Roy. cheers ;)
