Understanding Associated Contents Payment System

C.D. Crowder
Associated Content is a great place to begin a writing career, or even expand on a writing hobby. Besides being a great community to write for, you also earn money on everything you submit. You can be paid for written and multi-media submissions. Before you start submitting things left and right, you should take the time to better understand Associated Content's payment system.

First of all, you need to understand the different licenses Associated Content accepts.

-Exclusive - This license means you can submit the work only to Associated Content. You will be eligible for upfront payment and page views. The offers are normally higher for exclusive material.

-Non-Exclusive - This license means you can submit your work elsewhere, but must give Associated Content first publication rights. These materials are eligible for upfront payment and page views.

-Display Only - This license means your content is non-exclusive, but you are not eligible for upfront payment. This can work you have previously published elsewhere. One bonus to this license is that you can edit or delete Display Only material.

Now that you know what options are available, it's time to understand the page view or performance payments. This program allows you to earn money over time for your article or material. You can earn $1.50 per every 1000 page views. The more popular your content, the more you can earn.

To receive upfront payment offers, you content must be unique. It can be hard to find the right niche, but with a little work, it is possible. Upfront payments range from $3 to $20, but normally stick to the lower side. There are Calls for Content, a list of topics Associated Content is currently looking for, which may pay more. After so many calls, you may receive private Calls for Content that pay $20 and up.

Now that you better understand how to earn money, it's time to understand how and when you actually receive the payment. It is important to know that Associated Content only pays through PayPal and only to United States citizens.

Performance payments are paid around the 10th of each month as long as you have earned at least $1.50 in page views. Upfront payments are paid the following Monday, Wednesday, or Friday after accepting an offer. You never have to request payment from Associated Content. Everything is done automatically as long as you have set up and verified you PayPal account.

PayPal accounts are free to set up. Be sure you verify the account by clicking on the link in the email they send you. You are asked to link a bank account, debit, or credit card to verify that you are who you say you are.

To receive funds from PayPal, you can link to your bank account and simply withdraw the funds. You can also request a check, but this will cost you a small processing fee. If you shop online often at places that accept PayPal, you can leave the money in your account and simply use it to shop.

Now that you understand how the Associated Content payment system works, start writing and earning. In a few weeks, you could have your first payment.

Aw man, I wrote an article about an upcoming event and I subimtted it as Display Only cuz I thought there was no way in heck it was gonna get an Upfront Payment. Now, that I think about it, I would've been able to get an Upfront Payment moreso than I thought!

Thanks for clearing up the confusion for me. This was a good read.

Upfront payments start at a lower level than $3.00 (as I received an offer below $3). Thanks for the article, you provided lots of helpful information.
