Understanding Facial Waxing

Brenda Hoffman
Facial wax can be somewhat scary if you haven't ever tried it before. It isn't something that is usually talked about amongst women because waxing facial hair can be a somewhat embarrassing subject. However, you should know that there are different procedures that you can use. Knowing how these ways in which to wax facial hair work will help you to decide which is best for you.

Facial Waxing

There are a lot of different ways in which a facial wax can be done. However, all of these different ways require you to clean the area before you get started. This is so that the pores will open up. Once they are open, your aesthetician will use a small wooden spatula to spread a thin layer of wax over any unwanted hair. Then in a single, quick motion the wax is ripped off in the opposite direction of your hair growth. You will need to repeat this procedure until all of the hair has been removed. If you have any stubborn hair remaining, you can pluck those out with tweezers.

Waxing Your Arms And Legs

Your legs and your arms can be waxed in the same way as your face. Larger amounts of wax will need to be used though and muslin strips may then be used to remove the wax. Once the wax is removed baby powder will be applied in order to ease the pain and calm the skin.

Waxing Your Bikini Line

This type of waxing can be scary, as you will be removing any hair that cannot be covered by your swimsuit. The hair is usually located inside your thighs, beneath your navel and near the sides of your pubic area. While some women will wear their swimsuit when having this procedure done, you can wear anything you want. You should know that this will be slightly uncomfortable though.

Brazilian Waxing

A Brazilian wax will remove all of the hair in your pubic area. You can leave a small amount, if you desire, in a strip or some other shape. In order to have this type of waxing done you will have to take all of your clothes off from the waist down and be willing to move into various positions so that your aesthetician will be able to get as much access as possible in order to successfully remove all of this hair.

A professional aesthetician can make you feel much more comfortable about getting a facial wax done.
