Understanding the Hidden Dream Messages

Your Precious Dream Journal

Dream interpretation according to the scientific method is a translation from images to words and sentences that are comprehensible to your conscience. You simply have to learn the dream language and the meaning of the basic dream symbols in order to understand the hidden dream messages that you cannot understand now, because for you the dream images and scenes seem to be absurd.

Think about a document written in a foreign language. For you this is Chinese, no matter if you know a few words of this language: you cannot understand the message that these words are giving to those that can understand their meaning. For you they are simply designs without meaning, because you cannot see their logic, since you don't speak this language.

This is what you have to do when you try to learn the dream language: you have to learn the dream logic. In other words, you have to start seeing the way that the unconscious mind that produces your dreams organizes what is logical and what is absurd.

Now, think about a foreign language that you know, at least a little bit. Remember situations of your life when this knowledge helped you solve a problem. Remember the light that suddenly illuminated your mind showing you everything that you could not see before when you first read the message in the foreign language for example. You had to translate it... Remember your victory after translating it!

Let's suppose that your cousin from another country came to visit you. How nice you feel when you are able to talk with him, only because you know a little bit of his language! Otherwise, you would stay silent, or try to communicate by miming, and nothing would be as nice as when you can simply talk with your dear cousin who came from abroad, making him feel comfortable with you.

This is how you are going to feel when you learn the dream language. You'll see a light: suddenly the mixed and absurd designs, or better put, scenes that seem to have no meaning, will become comprehensible to you and you'll understand their message.

How can you use this knowledge to acquire mental health and solve any kind of problem?

You have to keep a diary and a dream journal. You can have both together, because your life and your dreams are connected: your dreams are basically talking about you: your life, your behavior, your past, your future, etc. So, your daily life is very important for the comprehension of the meaning of your dreams. This is why the dreamer's biography is always indispensable for a proper dream translation.

How do you begin? Start writing a diary. For example:

"Today I met a very interesting person that attracted me. I don't know... Perhaps something may happen between us."

Dream: I was in a jungle and it was dark. There was a lot happening in the dream, but I cannot remember anything now that I am awake.

Translation: Never mind, I can understand that since I was in a jungle, I was in a dangerous environment full of hidden enemies, and since it was dark, this means that I am ignoring many things. These are not good signs.

Are they about the person I met yesterday? Probably, because I was thinking about them all the time...

"Today I met an old friend that knew this person and I wanted very much to ask her if she knew them well enough, but I didn't have the courage to do so. I'm sad and almost depressed because I have this feeling and I don't know who this person really is, if they feel anything for me, or if I'm being silly..."

Dream: I saw a cat entering my bedroom. It was a beautiful Siamese. My bedroom was messy. I somehow hung the cat up on the wall and suddenly a compressor made it become as thin as a piece of paper. The cat became a picture on the wall, even though it didn't have a frame and the cat was still alive. I woke up afraid, feeling that this was a nightmare.

Translation: The cat means that I have to smarten up. It entered my bedroom, in other words, into a part of my psyche. When I put it on the wall it was smashed by that compressor! Bad sign again... The smashed cat on the wall is my intelligence!

I'm certainly being silly for believing that this person could really care about me...

"Today I decided to forget them and care about something else. I'm not going to pursue them if they don't care for me. Period!"

Dream: I was flying in the air. Then I had to travel by ship and go to the other side of the ocean. I was sad because I had to abandon my bicycle.

Translation: I'm far from reality... I won't forget them that easily... I have to pass through a long period of transformation and comprehension. In other words: there is a lot that I have to learn about that person.

I have to accept this challenge and go ahead, examining everything with patience and wait for the results. I can't continue playing around and hoping that things will be easy for me, because I will have many adventures with this case.

I had better be serious and pay attention to what is happening to me!
