Being shy as a kid can sometime by far not be a bad thing because sometimes its great to get to know the person you are communicating with, or even to hesitate around new surrounding. Most individual who are shy do alot of observing before jumping into a conversation or any type event. It is okay for your child to watch from the corner a bit, but not the whole entire time of play. If a person is unsure if they are shy or not the main symptom is the feeling of being scared when someone is talking or approaching you. There are other feeling as well like feeling nervous. If you feel scared of very nervous when you are talking or someone is approaching you to talk then you maybe a little shy.
There are ways that can help your child progress a little more if your child is extremely shy. Allowing your child to deal with his shyness on his own will do more good then bad. Don't push your child into playing with others if he don't feel comfortable, but encourage him that it is okay to play with others. Giving your child the time that he needs to know that it is okay to explore is what is needed. Everybody is different and some people need more time with things that you might would think to be a very easy task.
To further help your child out with being shy is each and every time that your child plays with other kids praise and treat him for that. Always let your child know that it is okay to interact with other children. Although being shy can cause you to not get alot of things because you will be to intimidated to ask for them as a just it still can be considered a good thing. One of your biggest fear of your child talking to stranger having a very shy child your chances are less because chances are they want talk to strangers at all.
