Uneeda Tire Co. New Castle, Pennsylvania

Uneeda Tire Company is not only for tires but it may be best if you stick to their specialty, or what they were originally known for. This shop over the past few years has changed hands to a new owner and unfortunately the quality of work has gone downhill since in this reviewer's eye.

Uneeda Tire Company is located on Moravia Street in New Castle, PA. The prices of their work seem competitive to those in the area, in fact they seem to be a little on the lower side to some of the shops in the area. But with those prices you can expect longer wait times and possibly more problems than you bargained for. Upon reviewing a different customer along with my own experience the possibility of repeat use of this company is zero.

Customer one: Engine replacement, this may not seem to be something you would expect to go horribly wrong but two engine's later, a broken rear hatch and a broken gas line later this customer will never return. It started with an estimate of $1800.00 for the complete engine and the engine replacement when the work was complete the new charge was $2400.00. Once the customer left they noticed a lot of noise coming from the engine, they drove with this for 3 days then called the repair shop to complain the noise was not going away. The repair shop replaced the engine claiming the engine they used was bad. Once the vehicle was returned there were still problems and now there was a problem with the gas line and the rear hatch latch. Fed up and disgusted with the problems it was time for a new repair shop. The new repair shop confirmed the gas line break and rear hatch latch break was nothing due to the customer's doing and the repair was roughly $400.00. At this point the customer also told me before the original engine had died the vehicle had just passed the state inspection and they had been experiencing no troubles with the vehicle.

My own story: What seemed to be a simple muffler fixed turned into a nightmare that ended with my car going to another shop for break repair. First I was told my car would be done in 2 days that extended into almost 5 days. Once my car was available for pick up I was told once handed back my keys to watch out for the breaks that where "mushy". My first reaction was irritation because 2 weeks prior I had just had my entire break system checked over and my breaks replaced. So I knew nothing could possibly be wrong with the breaks. I get into my car start to drive, and my foot pushes completely down to the floor as I slide into traffic, my breaks are not mushy they are completely gone. At this point I am on my cell phone calling my cousin asking him where to go to have them looked over. He refers me to a different repair shop and once there I learn that my break line has been burned, the repairman said it probably happened while the muffler was being welded. When I called back to let Uneeda Tire Co. know what was wrong I was given the typical "Not possible" and "It didn't happen here" and the best was "We cut you a break" stories. At this point I cut my losses, moved on and never went back.

Could these be coincidences or could it be possible ways to make more money of customers? One will never truly know, but in the end it's safer to say these are two very dissatisfied customers with poor workmanship, long wait times, and change in prices and costly repairs that need to be repaired at other repair shops.
