Unequal Comparisons

Allana Calhoun
Long have I wondered
why their existence
seems to take precedence
over all that are pondered.

The rhythm comes natural to me
as well as to many others,
so why are the ones who lack that rhythm
the ones They want to see?

Do They think there is more skill
found in those so lacking,
that they overshadow all others
causing their rhythms to still?

Perhaps it's just a pet peeve,
a petty little idea
wrought from frustration and rejection,
causing me to grieve.
