Chapter 1: Perfect Match

It was the first time in a long time that I was truly happy. I had graduated from college with a degree in child psychology , landed my first job in a mental hospital working with children, and had met the man of my dreams, Josh Spencer.

Josh was different than any other man I had every known. The first time we met was my final year in college at a fraternity party. My best friend Sarah who I've known since the second grade was dating Josh's brother, Jake. She introduced us. Josh this is Bree, Brianna. At first Josh put his head down and then glanced up at me with such a boyish smile, I'm Josh Joshua Spencer very nice to meet you.

Josh had the most beautiful hazel eyes, they were deep, but had a sadness, shyness to them which is hard to explain. That night Sarah, Jake and I went to breakfast after the party was over.

Josh when he spoke, chose his words carefully. He would take pauses between words . This kept my attention for I was hanging on his every word. He was very soft spoken unlike the loud obnoxious types I generally knew and dated.

I run my own practice Josh said. I'm a grief counselor to kids who are having severe emotional problems from losing a loved one. What do you do Bree, he asked.

I gave him a smile. I'm an intern at a children's psychiatric ward. I too deal with psychological problems with children . Children who don't know the difference of dreams or reality. That get lost in their dreams and nightmares.

At this point I had just a little bit too much to drink and burst into laughter. Sarah shot me a disapproving glance.
I'm sorry I said, it's just we make quite the pair, you and I, don't we? Grief and nightmares, how depressing. Josh looked like he was shocked by my statement, and then with a smirk he said well miss dereamer would you do me the honor of going to dinner with me?

Nothing can describe what I felt at that moment. I eruptly stopped laughing. Sarah just smiled at me. This is when I got lost in his eyes staring at me. "Yes that would be nice". My knees were knocking together underneath the table. To this day Josh still doesn't know that.
