Discussions the two
of you had, tales related,
lives lived, questions never
asked mix with those asked
too late - impropriety.
Places he would have
your input - input where
no other thoughts
will suffice.

Thoughts form, and collapse;
ideas come, then go while lives
pass through lives and hearts
blossom to flame and fade
with time - it is the way
of all things, all thoughts -
excepting you.

You are a thought, not
a related thought, not
a thought
in conjunction
with other thoughts,
certainly not
an after-thought, nor
a side-thought; and never
a second-thought.

You alone
remain unfaded
in a life of faded
thought.
