Uni-Ball 207 Needle Point Pen by Sanford is a Versatile, Inexpensive Writing Instrument
The Uni-ball 207 Needle Point Pen is Ideal for Daily Use
The uni-ball (by Sanford) 207 needle pen is also available in multiple widths. The medium width is most practical for writing on a variety of paper, and not so thick that it causes you to use up more space than you might want when recording ideas in a journal, taking notes in meetings or making awesome doodles on the margins of paper soon to be recycled.
A four-pack of uni-ball 207 needle pens cost $7.01 with tax at our local Office Depot. That adds up to about $1.75 per pen.
This pen is good for every day uses whether you are recording pages in a daily journal, taking notes during business meetings or doing thumbnail drawings and doodles during boring meetings. The uni-ball 207 pen generally lasts about two weeks under daily usage. That means this pack of four pens will last about a month, give or take a week or two.
Some pens literally seem to last longer than others. This most likely is a subjective feeling based on circumstance because the ink flow on most uni-ball pens is smooth and consistent. If you are a person that does not like a pen that puts out bursts of ink or skips, uni-ball pens generally have evolved to avoid this type of mess.
This is important because nothing more frustrating when trying to record thoughts, especially creative thoughts, with a pen that does not work. Sometimes the creative process can be fragile at best. You do not need your pen to skip or quit right in the middle of a genius idea. If you are jotting down potential song lyrics or words to a poem, for example, the mind can be extremely ephemeral with those words. You need a pen that works, and works fast. The uni-ball 207 honestly fits that bill.
Same goes for making drawings with the uni-ball 207 needle point pens. You need a pen that will not skip or blot when trying to make line drawings. Again these pens perform well under a variety of conditions and on different types of paper. I have even used uni-ball 207 pens in outdoor conditions to take notes during a wildlife census. It continued working even when mist and rain affected the paper.
One added benefit of the uni-ball 207 is the new Check Fraud prevention ink. Sanford has invented an ink resistant to tampering by people who use household products to erase ink and write in new numbers! That is certainly worth the $1.75 you pay per uni-ball pen.
You won't impress anyone with your uni-ball 207, because it doesn't look flashy or expensive. The smoky gray plastic case is utilitarian at best, but the rubber grip and chrome pocket holder balance out the overall appearance of this fine, functional pen.
Most models of uni-ball pens deliver similar performance. For many years I relied on the uni-ball classic pen with silver point, but the uni-ball 207 needle point is a new favorite because of its versatility, reliability, consistency and needle point that delivers consistent, even lines. For some reason, that seems to help the brain work.
Enjoy.
