Rest assured, the skull was a plastic, commercially manufactured model, and did not represent any of the women in the Pickton case. Yet it was used as a model and had bright, colored lines on the skull to show where an electric saw bisected the heads of the women. Color-coded dots mark the spots where .22 caliber bullets allegedly entered and exited the skulls of the women, whom Robert Pictkon has been accused of murdering.
On Tuesday, Brian McConaghy, a forensic firearms and tool mark expert, told the court in detail about how the heads were split apart. McConaghy pointed with his finger to where a saw had sliced through the rear of the head of Mona Wilson. A second cut went through her jaw and up her face. He also points out that the heads of Ms. Joesbury, Ms. Wilson, and Sereena Abotsway were split in a similar fashion. However, the cuts in the front and back did not meet, the skulls were broken apart at the top. He also explained how the bullets entered and exited the skulls.
Disturbing news has been revealed, that a unidentified skull found in 1995 near Mission BC matches the cuts found on the skulls from Robert Pickton's pig farm. In 1995, a man found the right half of a skull that had been cut vertically at the midline. The half skull have been identified as a female and the jury has already heard that some bones found on the Pickton property matched the DNA of the Mission half-skull, which has become known as Jane Doe.
A returned RCMP sergeant, Phil Ziegler, told the court that none of the saws or saw blades found on Robert Pickton's pig farm, matched the cut marks found on the bisected skulls. Nor did any of the firearms found on Pickton's property, match the bullet holes found on the skulls.
A 22.caliber gun was found at Mr. Pickton's home, with a dildo pulled over the barrel. Mr. Ziegler confirmed that the dildo did not have a hole and the gun was not fired while the dildo was stretched over the gun barrel.
The police found the bisected heads, and dismembered hands and feet of Ms. Abotsway, Ms. Wilson, and Ms. Joesbury in buckets on Robert Pickton's farm. Any further remains of the women were not found.
These information are only the few of many extremely graphic evidence and testimonies that the jury had to listen to ever since the trial began on Jan 22, 2007. The trial should not conclude until the ending of this year.
Robert Pickton was arrested in 2004, when police found the DNA of 26 women on his pig farm. Pickton is on trial for the murder of the first 6 women found on the property. He also faces an additional 20 charges of murder, which will follow in a second trial.
