Lighthouse accommodations can be a wonderful way to get a taste of history, as many of the lighthouse inns in Michigan as well as those throughout the United States, were at one time fully operational and utilized by the U.S. Coast Guard as lifeboat rescue stations. They were also used to help sailors navigate through the waters. Sleeping in such an important monument makes for an unforgettable experience.
Lighthouse bed and breakfasts additionally offer a chance to get away from a busy city life, as many of these unique accommodations are located in remote areas and some of them do not offer television, phone or internet access; you may be forced to relax.
If you are looking for unique accommodations to complement your vacation in Michigan, a lighthouse inn B&B might be worth considering.
