So just what is the Lazy 5 Ranch? It's an exotic animal farm that's also a drive-through park - kind of like a safari through the pastures of the Piedmont area of North Carolina. It's here where you can see over 750 different types of animals that come from six different continents around our planet... and you can see all of them from the safety and comfort of your very own car! It is said that there is nothing else like this fun experience in all of the southeast United States!
They're open Mondays through Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. til an hour before sunset. Sunday they're open from 1:00 p.m. to an hour before sunset. Admission rates are $8.50 per adult, and $5.50 for children 2 to 11 years old. Seniors receive a discount at $5.50 per person (60 and over). The optional wagon ride is an additional fee, ranging from $2.50 for seniors to $5.00 for adults. And if you have 15 or more people, ask about the discounted group rates as well!
You are going to love this place - there's lots of neat things to see in addition to the exotic animals, like the walk through petting area where you can actually touch a lot of the smaller animals and see different birds and other small exotic animals. And don't miss your chance to feed the llamas, goats, camels, and sheep! Plus, there is The Trading Post where you can pick up some great souvenirs and gifts, and the Blacksmith Shop is pretty neat as well, with a real working blacksmith there to answer your questions!
So make sure to plan a visit to Lazy 5 Ranch soon! It's time to try something different and rather exciting in North Carolina!
