Unique Baby Shower Game Ideas

Crystal Ray
Baby showers are fun and exciting for all who attend, and baby showers that include unique games are even better. If you're hosting a baby shower for a friend, co-worker, or a relative, consider the following unique game ideas. These ideas are different than the usual word scramble games and number games played at baby showers, and they'll make the celebration unique and memorable for all who attend.

Blindfolded Diaper Duty

Diapering a baby isn't always easy for those who aren't in practice, and diapering a doll can be just as difficult - especially when blindfolded. If you're looking for unique baby shower game ideas give this one a try. Blindfold guests one at a time, and see who can properly diaper a doll the fastest. Whoever can diaper the baby doll correctly in the shortest amount of time wins a well deserved prize. This fun baby shower game is sure to generate a lot of laughter.

Clothespin Game

This unique baby shower game can be played as long as you like, and it's definitely a lot of fun. Decorate spring-style clothespins with narrow pink or blue ribbons, and have guests pin one to their clothing as they arrive. Announce warning words that will cause them to lose their clothespin before the game begins. For example, the words baby, shower, or even the guest of honor's name can all be off-limits. When a guest hears another guest saying a predetermined off-limit word, that guest can take away their clothespin. Whoever has the most clothespins pinned to their clothing by a specific time wins a special prize.

Dirty Diaper Door Prize Game

This baby shower game isn't for everyone, but it's definitely one of the most unique game ideas. If you don't think guests will be offended by the prospect of dirty diapers than consider this baby shower game. Make mini diapers with folded white washcloths and large diaper pins. Buy cheap washcloths and diaper pins of your choice, and fold them so they can be fasted with a single pin in the front. Place a piece of candy or another object of your choice inside one of the makeshift diapers. Whoever ends up with the dirty diaper is the winner of this fun and unique door prize game.

New Mummy Game

Another one of the most unique baby shower game ideas involves wrapping the soon-to-be mom like a mummy around the tummy. In advance of the baby shower, measure the mom's tummy at the largest point with unrolled toilet paper. Count the squares it took to completely surround her belly. Have party guests guess how many squares it took to completely go around her. If more than one guesses correctly, a single name can be drawn from all correct answers.

String Game

The string game is similar to the new mummy game, but it's a bit different, and involves a section of string and name labels. Before the party begins, measure the soon-to-be mom's belly at the largest point with yarn or a section of string. Mark that piece of string and cut off another string that's much longer. This string will be passed around to baby shower guests along with peel and stick labels. Each guest will write her name on a label and place it at a point on the string that they think matches the size of the soon-to-be mom's tummy. Guests can't cheat by putting the string around their own bellies. Whoever chose the closest point wins a prize in this fun and unique baby shower game.

Mommy Memory Game

If you're still in search of unique baby shower games, how about playing a memory game? After an hour of partying with the new mom-to-be, have her leave the room, and ask party guests to write down exactly what she was wearing including jewelry, colors, and details. It will be funny to hear the responses of guests, and whoever can come up with the highest number of correct answers wins this fun and unique baby shower game.
