One of my favorite Save the Date ideas is perfect for a beach wedding, Oceanside wedding, second, wedding, and well, just about any wedding! The idea of this Save the Date wedding reminder circles around the theme "We're Taking the Plunge!" I hope you like it and use it for your own wedding save the date cards!
To Make this "We're Taking the Plunge" Save the Date Card You Will Need:
Camera
Matte Photo Paper
Wedding Gown (costume)
Groom's Outfit (costume)
Friend to take the photo
Pinking sheers
Black maker
Access to a Pool

So, the first thing you need to do to get started making this fun Save the Date card is to acquire an costume wedding dress and tux for the groom. Check local Halloween costume shops or thrift shops for an affordable wedding gown. The cheesier the better with this whimsical save the date card, so do not spend a ton of money here.
The groom can really throw on a pair of khakis, a shirt, a tie, and a blazer form Goodwill. Again, the cheese factor works here.
Now, have one of the bridesmaids or groomsman from your wedding help you with this next step. You need to have access to a pool.
Have a member of your wedding party stand across the pool from you and your groom.
You and your groom should stand on one corner of the pool about two to three feet back from the edge so, just to be clear, the person taking the photo should be on the opposite corner of the pool. You can play around with this angle if your camera does not have a zoom option.
Now, you and your groom should hold hands and practice jumping into the air with your legs bent up behind you. You could also try the famous Toyota kick. The effect is though that you are leaping in to the water, hence, "We're Taking the plunge!"
Now, you and your groom WILL NOT be actually jumping into the pool, but something about that angle standing on the corner of the pool really makes it look like you are!!
Now, choose the best photo in your digital camera and put it into photo shop or any program you have in your computer that will allow you to type the words "We're taking the plunge!" across the bottom of the photo.
Now, print it out for as many Save the Date cards as you need for your beach wedding, lakeside wedding, Oceanside wedding, or whatever kind of wedding you are having!
Cut the edge out with some pinking sheers to clean them up.
Now, you can use the back just like a postcard. You can either print your photos out to standard postcard size or use envelopes, the choice I yours!
