Unique Bridal Shower Favors

A bridal shower is a special time to show the bride how much you love and support her. Usually, a shower is thrown by friends, but on some occasions, the bride herself will host it. While the guests are expected to bring gifts, it is also traditional to have a little something to give back to those who attend. Many women would like to give bridal shower favors that are a little different, so here are a few ideas to get you going.

Personalized Cookies. These are a very popular, edible favor that guests delight in. You can make them yourself, or order them from a bakery. Cookies in the shape of a bouquet or any other bridal shape are perfect. Add a special message on top, such as "Lily's Shower" and you have a very special bridal shower favor.

Bud Vases. Tiny little glass vases are a big hit with shower attendees. You can offer them as is, or buy an etching solution and etch the initials of each guest into the side of their vase. Or go more general and just do a design like a wavy line or a vine.

Scented Candles. These make lovely little keepsakes and can be bought in packs of 6-12. Choose a delicate scent like rose or lavender for your guests. To make the candle even more special, add a sprig of lavender or a miniature rose bud, tied in place with a complementary ribbon.

Personalized Candy Bars. What better gift for a roomful of women than a rich bar of chocolate? There are many companies that will customize the candy bar wrapper to say whatever you wish, perhaps a poem or even a photo of the happy couple. If you are good with Microsoft Publisher, you could even make your own and save on the personalization part of the favor.

Customized Magnets. You can buy magnetic sheets in any craft store that have a sticky face on them. Simply print and cut out the design you want and press it onto the magnetic sheet. You can then trim it to the shape you want. This makes for a very unique favor.

Embroidered bags. Look for small embroidered handbags to fill with mints or another tiny goody. These can often be found online or in craft stores. An edible favor goes well inside, but make sure you leave the candies in their plastic bag. You could also include a pair of earrings or a silver chain, if you prefer not to use candy.

Unique bridal shower gifts are not hard to come by if you use your imagination. You can even make your own, for a true one-of-a-kind gift.
