Unique Ceiling Lights for Kids' Rooms

I came across this collection of novelty ceiling lights and I gotta admit, ceiling fixtures were never this cool when I was a kid. Though my ceiling light was a stained glass square (and still pretty cool by 90s standards,) I wish I had these options when I was a kid. For $189.00, this race car light pendant beats any other race car themed light out there. There are two light encased in a dragster style racing car and of course, it's complete with wheels and a little race car driver inside.

Constellation Pendant

This constellation pendant has a satin nickel finish with multi-colored glass. When turned on, it projects multi-colored stars, moons and plants onto the ceilings and walls. The pendant itself is 10 inches by 15 inches wide, so for $189, it's worth the price.

Bug-Themed Ceiling Light Fixture

I'm not a fan of bugs in general, but these lights are pretty cute. A company called Tech Lighting has designed hanging lights in the shapes of dragonflies and bumblebees that are comprised of aluminum and glass. They hang suspended from the ceiling and prices range from $184.00 up.

Airplane Light Fixtures

Why kid isn't fascinated by an airplane? When I was a kid, airplane-themed lights were not nearly as cool as this and it's not your dinky run-of-the-mill table lamp. It's a full blown, contemporary/modern looking airplane that's reminiscent of the Wright brothers' plane. Plus, they've also got an antique-looking version as well as a version more themed for a younger child.

Basketball Themed Hanging Light Fixture

The flush half basketball ceiling fixture has been done, but Elk Lighting offers up this unique take on the subject. It features a hanging basketball pendent suspended over a glass court that you gotta see to believe. At $189, it's great for both boys and girls who love basketball.

Soccer Themed Hanging Light Fixture

For the same price (just at a different website,) you can get a soccer ball version of the basketball hanging fixture. This ceiling light features a hanging soccer ball pendant suspended over a soccer field complete with two goal nets.

Astronaut Flush Mount Ceiling Fixture

This flus-mount ceiling fixture features a painted base with a satellite/space station as the light fixture. There are also two astronauts descending downward from the station, making it a pretty cool find for just a few cents over $131.
