Practical Gift Ideas
Teachers will love gifts they can use that are practical but still meaningful.
Cold Prevention: It's a fact, school teachers get sick often from being exposed to sick children every day. Give your child's teacher a basket stocked with cold prevention products. Include hand sanitizer from Bath and Body Works in a pretty scent, Antibacterial surface wipes and Airborne power pixies. Airborne is a herbal health formula created by a teacher and can be found on their website at www.airbornehealth.com.
Supplies for School: Many teachers, especially in public schools, have limited funds to spend for school supplies. Teachers will appreciate receiving art supplies, books or even supplies for their personal desks. You can contact your school to find out if there are any specific needs.
Pampering Gift Ideas
Teachers are selfless by nature so give them a gift that will pamper and re-energize them.
Candles: Scented candles are always a nice gift. However, your teacher will probably not be allowed to have an open flame in her office at school. Try getting her an electric candle warmer and a candle in a jar. Another option is a Candle Breeze. They are a similar to a candle warmer with a fan. You put little tins of wickless candles in the center and when they are warmed they fill your room with a wonderful fragrance. They have many scents available. Check them out at www.candlebreeze.com.
Bath and Body: Soothing bath products are always a hit. Pick a few of your favorite products from the spa and wrap them up in a pretty basket. Teachers receive a lot of bubble bath and lotions so try giving something unique like hair masks and lip treatments.
Spa Treatments: Give the gift of relaxation. A gift certificate to the spa will be received well and enjoyed. Most spas allow you to choose between either a gift certificate for a specific treatment or a dollar amount so the recipient can choose what they want.
Candy: Chocolates are a common gift. Try something out of the ordinary like gourmet toffees or caramels. Some sweet shops carry caramel apples that are dipped several times with different flavored coating and rolled in nuts, candy or coconut. These look especially pretty tied in cellophane and ribbon.
Whatever you choose to give your child's teacher this year for Christmas remember to make it personal. Have your child color a card themselves to go with the gift. Have them write or dictate a personal message to their teacher wishing them a happy holiday. Teachers love their students and will treasure a unique gift with a homemade card that was given with lots of thought.
