When many people think of coat racks they envision classic bentwood stands or ordinary peg hook varieties, but many more options exist. They come in many unique styles and sizes, and the designs range from contemporary to traditional. A rack for hanging coats can add interest and appeal to an entryway. Countless options are available online, and they can be stylish as well as useful.
I purchased an ordinary peg hook rack to use in my entryway, and although it looked appropriate with my southwestern decor, I discovered many more stylish options. I ended up buying a unique metal bracket with horseshoe hooks to replace the first one. While shopping for something unique and far more stylish for my entryway, I found many more interesting designs.
Unique Wall-Mounted Birds on a Vine
If the style of your entryway is traditional, eclectic or cottage style by design, consider a wall mounted bracket with hooks that depicts birds on a vine. Search online to find this unique coat rack made from recycled metal. It is one of the most original designs that I have found, and it would look great in an entryway, a mudroom or near a backdoor. It could also be used as a towel rack, and because I loved the unique design I purchased it for my master bathroom.
Handy Works of Art for Holding Coats and More
Another one of the most unique designs I have found is an interesting work of art. It is a reproduction of a hand, and the index finger is designed to serve as a hook. If I planned to design a contemporary entryway with artistic flair I would choose this unique coat rack. The mounted hand appears to extend from the wall. What could be more unique than this?
Tree Branch Coat Rack Designs
I love natural furnishings and decor, and another one of my favorite designs is made from sturdy twisted branches. They are artfully intertwined into a sturdy coat rack. A tree branch rack would be ideal in a rustic cabin entryway, a room with cottage style and any other space that includes natural decor.
When a coat rack is completely full, the designs of the furnishing are hidden from sight. Use your coat rack of choice to hold guest's coats. Instead of lining the entryway wall with clothing, store family outerwear in a coat closet. A coat rack is meant to be used as a temporary place for hanging garments. When it is unique and stylish it should be visible. It can be part of the entryway decorating scheme.
