Unique Cup Ideas for Your Next Barbecue

If you are looking for something a little different during your next barbecue than keep reading this article. One thing that you learn from giving lots of barbecues is to always be creative. This helps to keep your barbecue fun for your guests, and may even some you a little money and time in the process. When it comes to serving drinks to your guests, most people typically use paper or plastic cups. Of you are going to have a not so large barbecue why not make some fruit cups that will add a little extra flavor to any punch and recycle what you have at the same time.

For this project you can use grapefruit, or oranges. You will need at least one grapefruit or orange for every two guests. Wash the fruit thoroughly in water. Then cut the fruit in half and scoop the insides out of each of the pieces. Place whatever is scooped out into a bowl, which can be used later on for punch, or for a fruity dessert. Make sure that you coop all of the insides out but be careful not to break the outer shell. After each of the shells is scraped out you can place them in the freezer until it is time for the party.

When party time arrives you will want to place them out on the table in a bucket of ice. I like to have ice trays surrounding the bunch bowl, and place the fruit cups in the ice on the trays. Place a few ice chips in the bottom of each fruit cup. Make sure that the bunch area is in a nice shaded area. If it is too hot out you may want to make your punch area indoors, or next to a fan. After you have placed a few ice chips in set out a bowl or cup filled with strays. As they take their cup and punch and stray. Put a decorative sign up for your guest so that they know these are the cups to use. As each guests takes a cup they can then just scoop the punch into it and drink. Be sure to take the time to take pictures of your creation when you are done. You can even decorate them even more, by placing little umbrella strays inside of the cups. This is a great way to save money on plastic or paper cups and make less garbage for yourself.
