Unique DIY Wedding Thank You Card Ideas

Sending thank you cards is certainly not the highlight of your wedding. However, if it has to be done then why not make them fun and unique. Make them something your guests will remember. After all, they took time and effort to pick out a gift they thought you would love. You should put as much thought into thanking them.

With the help of your wedding day photographer make thank you post cards. Make a pretty sign that says "Thank You" and have the photographer snap a shot of the two of you holding it up on your wedding day while you are all dressed up. Try putting "Thank" and "You" on different signs and then each hold one. You can be turned away from the camera holding them behind your back while you are kissing or you can face the camera and smile. You can make your sign out of something as simple as poster board and paint. Or you can try something really creative like writing on a chalkboard or even painting the words on a paper parasol or fan.

Have your photographer print post cards (or do it yourself if you bought the digital copies of the images), and mail them out to each of your guests with a handwritten personal message on the back.

Another fun idea is to actually take pictures yourself while you are opening the gifts and send these to your guests. They will enjoy seeing your reaction as well as reading what you have to say about the gift. Polaroid cameras work really well or you can use a digital camera and print the images out yourself and include them in the envelope with your thank you card.

If you have two photographers at your wedding ask one of them to stand at the entrance and take an image of the guests as they arrive. You can include a picture of each guest with your thank you note. They will love having a picture of themselves at your wedding. This will help them remember your event for a long time to come.

However you decide to do your thank you cards make sure you write something meaningful to each guest. Remember to thank them for attending your wedding as well as for the gift they brought you. Mention the gift specifically and include how much you are going to enjoy using it while you start your new life together.
