Banjo
This is a cute name and can be used for the smaller cuter varieties of dog. You could use Banjo for Cocker Spaniels, American Staffordshire Terrier, Basenji, or Papillon. These are just a few examples, but Banjo would be good for just about any breed.
Cowboy or Cowgirl
Cowboy is a cute name for the dog that fits it. For example, the American Waters Spaniel, Australian Cattle Dog, or the Bloodhound are all good hunting dogs. They could be considered a cowboy or a cowgirl.
Chewbacca
This name is inspired by the character Chewbacca from the movie, "Star Wars'. This name is perfect for the really hairy dogs. Dogs like the Komondor, Briard, Lowchen, Chow Chow, Puli, or the Lhasa Apso. These Shaggy dogs would definitely fill the name Chewbacca.
Judge, Achilles, Aries, Goliath, or Killer
These names are very masculine and strong. The dogs that fit the description would be the big dogs like the Doberman Pinshcer, German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Mastiff, Boxer, or the Great Dane. All of these Dogs look like the part of a lean, mean, fighting machine.
Beowulf or Bigfoot
When I hear these names I think of the mountains. Some of the dogs that will benefit from these names are the Norwegian Elkhound, Newfoundland, Tibetan Mastiff, Shiba Inu, Great Pyrenees, Samoyed, Bernese Mountain Dog, Saint Bernard and the Alaskan Malamute. Maybe the name Beowulf doesn't remind me of the mountains but it still fits in nicely.
Bonsai
You may find it strange to name your dog after a dwarf tree that is planted in a shallow pot. However, it is a very cute name and can be applied to very cute and small dogs. Dogs like the Pekingese, Pug, Japanese Chin, Tibetan Spaniel, Keeshond, Shih Tzu, or even the Basenji.
Caesar
Caesar is a Latin male name that means,"long haired". How convenient to name dogs with long hair and a strong personality Caesar. Dogs like the Afghan hound, English Springer Spaniel, or the Cocker Spaniel.
Gizmo, Grinch, Groucho, Grumpy, or Scrooge
Dogs with Wrinkly faces are perfect for these names. All these names are male except Gizmo. Gizmo could be used for a female. Dogs like the Pug, Pekingese, Boston Terrier, Japanese Chin, Papillon, Pomeranian, Boxer, Bulldog, Neapolitan Mastiff, Chinese Sharpie, or the Chow Chow would benefit.
Hoagie or Jellybean
Why not name your dog after a long submarine sand-which? Hoagie makes a cute name and goes a long way for dogs like the Dachshund or the Bassett Hound. Jellybean would be a little sweeter with dogs like the Parson Russell Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Basenji, Beagle, Harrier, Smooth Fox Terrier, Bull Terrier or the Chihuahua.
