How to Make Easy and Unique Christmas Crafts

Bev Cohen
Crafts and Christmas just seem to go together! It's fun to spend quality time together creating items that can be used during the holidays. There is a sense of pride when your finished project looks good and you can tell everyone you made it. Kids especially love to use their imaginations when it comes to Christmas crafts. Check out the following unique and easy Christmas crafts to decorate your home with during the holidays!

Apple Candle Holder

You're going to get a kick out of this! To make an apple candle holder, use a red or green apple. Make sure it sits firmly without falling over. Use the healthiest, shiniest, prettiest apple you can find. Rub it with a cloth to get it as shiny as possible. Next, remove the stem of the apple to about 1 inch with an apple corer. Place a few fake leaves into the apple so that they stick up outside of the hole you created. For instance, if you use a red apple, maybe put a few green leaves into the apple. If you use a green apple, put a few red leaves into the apple. Next, gently press a 2-4 inch candle into the apple and anchor it and the leaves in place. And there you have a homemade apple candle holder! Imagine how cute that will look at your holiday dinner table.

Spray Painted Nuts

I know this sounds simple, and it is, but wait until you see how festive they look! Use any nuts that have a shell such as walnuts, almonds, pistachios, etc. Spray paint these nuts in various Christmas colors such as green, red, gold, silver; whatever you like. Then you can place them in a pretty bowl for the holidays. Or you can place them at the base of candles. Or you can glue them onto wreaths. They add a unique Christmasy feel to almost anything.
