Unique Graduation 2011 Scrapbook Ideas

Make Your Graduation Scrapbook Top of the Class

Angela W. La Fon
A graduation scrapbook is fun to make and can capture school memories to be enjoyed for a lifetime. Whether you're scrapbooking a college, high school or even preschool graduation, you can preserve photos and memories in a unique graduation 2011 scrapbook. Let's go to the experts and look at some top graduation scrapbook ideas to create a unique graduation album.

Scrapbook titles:

Photos are often the focus of a graduation scrapbook but titles are the icing on the graduation cake. Scrapbooks etc., a Better Homes & Gardens Network site says, "Make a Page-Spanning Title."

This means making letters for a title go all the way across the page. Scrapbooks Etc. gives an example of the title "graduation!!" with bouncing letters. From Scrapbooks Etc.,

"The bold page-spanning title on this layout really catches the eye. It bounces across the page in a fun wavy pattern, giving the simple grid layout an unexpected dose of energy."

Along with going across the page with titles, you can stash the ruler and set your letters askew. Bouncing letters are what bring the "energy" to this page.

Another graduation scrapbook tip is to remember school is out and this isn't a book report or a research paper. The title doesn't have to be at the top of the page. Mid page or bottom page titles can offer variety too. You can even seen an example from Scrapbooks Etc. that runs the title vertically up the left hand side of the page, leaving the page picture perfect.

The graduation year will be an important number icon for a lifetime. Don't forget to include 2011 or the appropriate graduation year through out the graduation scrapbook.

Using Quotes for Your Graduation Scrapbooks:

Quotes from the graduate are great but adding famous quotes is another unique graduation scrapbook idea. Scrapbooking Gems offered up some graduation scrapbook quotes for the Blossoms & Bloom collection.

Quote from Eleanor Powell found at Scrapbooking Gems:

"What we are is God's gift to us. What we become is our gift to God."

If you're looking for more graduation quotes for scrapbooks, cards or even a toast, the Parenting Teens page at About.com has a list of appropriate graduation quotes including this one:

Graduation quote from Orrin Hatch found at About.com:

"There is a good reason they call these ceremonies 'commencement exercises'. Graduation is not the end; it's the beginning."

Adding Unique Mementos:

The color copier is your friend. Some things like graduation napkins or programs can be fun but challenging to add to your scrapbook. You can shrink or enlarge and crop these mementos to add to your graduation scrapbook. Want to save that program with your name on the list intact? Photo copy and enlarge the section with your name printed on it for a unique graduation scrapbook background.

Include Childhood Photos Too:

Graduation 2011 scrapbooks are all about celebrating the graduate's arrival to the destination but adding childhood photos is another unique graduation scrapbook idea. Scrapbook Etc. suggests the "Compare Then and Now" scrapbook page that adds to memory lane with earlier school photos along the student's graduation photo.

You can see a sample here at Scrapbooks Etc. where along with photos a shrunken copy of a college diploma is nestled on a scrapbook page with a shrunken copy of an early childhood certificate. The title is "Celebrate 22 Years of Education."

Add Graduation Embellishments:

Graduates have come a long way, baby and so have scrapbooking embellishments. You can find a selection of stickers and even dimensional stickers at Scrapbook.com or your favorite scrapbook or craft store.
