Molly Ringwald, Other Has Beens, Make Great Adult Halloween Costumes

Ever think back to your childhood or younger years and wonder what happened to my favorite actor or actress? There have been many actors and actresses in the past who have failed to keep their careers alive due to personal problems or the inability to do their jobs: act. You can use this to your advantage by turning their washed up careers into a unique and creative Halloween costume sure to get a few laughs from friends and family.

Just how would you pull this Halloween costume off? First you need to think of your favorite actor or actress from the past who has failed to make it past their decade. For example, one of my favorites is Molly Ringwald, who is best known for her roles in Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club. Once you have found your favorite "has been" actor or actress, it is time to assemble your costume.

The first part of your Halloween costume you need to think about is a wig. In the case of Molly Ringwald you would need a red wig preferably in the shape of a bob. While your real hair may already be like this you don't want to mess it up with all of the goop you will be adding to your wig. In order to give the wig a "washed up actor or actress" look you will need some form of goopy substance such as hair gel or shortening and style it as if you just got of bed or perhaps the washing machine. Go crazy with the styling, after all it is Halloween.

Next you will need to find an outfit appropriate for one of the characters your favorite actor or actress from the past as part of your Halloween costume. Because of the alterations you will need to make for your Halloween costume you should use clothing of no significance or better yet you can pick something up from your local thrift or second hand store to use for your costume. Once you have your outfit selected for your Halloween costume it's time to make the alterations. A few bleach stains and some tattered edges can transform your outfit to fit into the washed up actor or actresses Halloween costume theme.

Another way you could pull this Halloween costume off is to mix the washed up actor or actress theme with a beach bum theme. Instead of bleach stains you may have some rubbed in dirt on your clothing and instead of shoes or high heels, flip flops. Men can "paint" on some stubble or put on a fake beard to take the look for your Halloween costume even further.

The best part of this Halloween costume idea is that you can let your friends and family try and guess which washed up actor or actress you are dressed up as. Go ahead look up your old favorite actor and actress and have some fun for Halloween!
