Organization is a huge part of living a stress-free life. Do you ever run around, frantically looking for your keys or a writing utensil? Keep your everyday items organized so they are easier to find when you most need them. From reading material to craft supplies, everything in your house should have its own home. Get inspired by some of these unique storage solutions for everyday items.
Recessed niches
If you don't have the space for extra storage inside a room, move it outward. Bookshelves, medicine cabinets, display cases: They can all be recessed into the wall for additional storage that doesn't cost you space inside the room. Keep in mind, though, that you only have a few inches of space before you start taking space from the next room.
Individual mail baskets
If you are like me, your mail probably ends up in a pile on the table or in the entryway. Use mail baskets or slots that hang on the wall to separate incoming mail and keep it from piling up. This way, family members can grab their own mail as they arrive home and no one else has to play postman.
Crafty storage solutions
Are you the creative type? All those crafting supplies can get jumbled together and become unmanageable. Use your creative side to come up with some unique storage solutions for these items. For example, a wall-mount shower caddy might become a gift wrap center. Use a freestanding towel bar to store ribbon, where it can be used without becoming tangled. Decorated shoe boxes area also great organizing solutions.
Home office storage
Offices are home to lots of small supplies that can quickly become clutter. Do you have tons of small supplies, like paper clips, push pins and rubber bands? Store them in clear glass jars of an appropriate size, where you can easily find and use them. You can be as creative as you like with your pencil holder; I use a little tin pail to keep my pens together. Decorative tin cans and toothbrush holders also work well for keeping your writing utensils together.
Get organized, and you will soon find that your life has become less stressed. There should be a place for everything, and everything should be in its place.
