Unique Left Handed Products for Kids and Teens

At the bookstore the other day, I tripped across a left handed notebook (on clearance) and snapped it up right way. "My daughter will love this!" I thought, having never cow-towed to her left handedness, ever. She is 12.

In 12 years, I never even considered there might be things out there that will make her life easier. So, when I got home I went nuts researching cute gift ideas that would make her feel special, being the only lefty in our 6-person family...as opposed to the odd man out. After patiently searching online stores (36 pages to be exact,) I thought I would bring you the best of the best, as far as, unique things for kids. Left- Hand Zone

Many of these lefty sites carry very similar products. But this site carries this crazy pencil, I only saw twice, which has 2 erasers - and kind of looks like a hammer. I have watched my daughter awkwardly erase smudges too many times to ignore that this might actually be good for any lefty! It's really interesting looking and would definitely be a talk piece in school - total specialty. In addition, this "Double Pencil Eraser" was one of the cheapest products found at only $1.49.

The Left Hand Story

Sure, any left hander can buy a notebook that has a top spiral or go to any of these sites and get a notebook with a spiral on the right, specifically for lefty's. But this site offered packs of notebooks in multiple sizes and had very hip designs even my own picky teenager would think are cool. Be sure to check out all their gift packs. Not bad!

Being Left Handed

This site offered the cheapest computer keyboard for lefties ($29), which features the number pad on the left as opposed to right. I liked that concept a lot. Also here, is an enormous selection of musical instruments for little kids, teens and adults. (Though I am not in the market for it, there was a pink flower guitar for a lefty that was really cute!) Lastly, this site had the largest bookstore of left handed books that I ran across. Oh, and don't miss the massive sports section as well!

Anything Left Handed and The Left Hand

Though there was nothing specific that caught my eye for teens, I did think these sites had appeal for common items at decent prices!

Those were my favorites! However, there is a lot out there from high to low end, notably instruments: guitars, trumpet - even a totally backward left handed piano! Sports like baseball, hockey and golf certainly support their left handers, as well. So, if you have a sport, no worries - these products are out there! I am just a little sad I didn't find some of these sooner - because like many parents, every once in a while, it's nice to get it RIGHT.
