1. Potato sandwich. Yes, raw potatoes. Thinly sliced (leave skins on [just wash]) with a dash of salt and topped with sliced cheese on buttered bread.
2. Fish fingers. Fish sticks with a bit of salt and cilantro leaves on bread slathered with butter or mayonnaise.
3. Peanut butter topped with watercress or thinly sliced green pepper and onion.
4. Tahini mixed with honey and topped with thinly sliced apple or pear.
5. French fry sandwich. A typical British sandwich, french fries on buttered bread. This sandwich is often dunked in brown gravy or ketchup when eaten.
6. Minced corn beef mixed with grated onion, salt and pepper and seeded chopped tomato. Serve on bread topped with mayonnaise or sandwich spread (relish and mayonnaise mixed together).
7. Thinly sliced roast beef topped thinly sliced beets. Bread topped with mayonnaise and horseradish (be careful with horseradish as it can be strong).
8. Peking duck on a bun. Shredded duck meat mixed with hoisin sauce, thinly sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Topped with thinly sliced cucumber.
9. A new spin on tuna salad. Tuna mixed with sweet whole corn (can is okay if drained well) and shredded cheese served on bread topped with mayonnaise.
10. Mix shredded cheddar cheese, onion and carrot and blend until paste is formed mix with mayonnaise or sandwich spread. Use salt and pepper to taste.
When making your new sandwich creation, there are just a few things to keep in mind:
A. Use the best quality ingredients you can find. It makes a fresher tasting sandwich.
B. You can use any bread you wish, from white to wheat to even whole grain and sourdough. Use your favorite bread to enjoy your sandwich more.
C. Use a generous amount of the filling. No one likes a skimpy sandwich, but be mindful of the bread that you are using and adjust the amount accordingly.
D. If you do not plan to eat the sandwich just after it is same (say you are making it for the next day's lunch) wrap the sandwich in wax paper and then cover tightly in foil.
Enjoy a different sandwich to give your meal a different twist anytime you want to try something new.
