The materials used to make this save the wedding date puzzle are affordable and easy. You don't even have to be able to paint, draw, or even sew to create this fun wedding art project. Overall, you should be able to make this project for less than $50 for about 100 invitations, but that depends on what materials you need to purchase.
To Make a Puzzle Save the Wedding Date Project You Will Need:
Foam Art Boards (You decide how many. You can substitute thick cardboard for this to
Save some money)
Photograph of the Bride and Groom
Spray Adhesive
Exacto Knife
Scissors
Picture hanging hooks
Hot glue
To start this easy Save the Wedding Date invitation art project you need to choose a photo or a piece of art. I recommend using a photo of the bride and groom.
Take the wedding photo to Kinko's. Have them photo copy it onto sturdy white paper in the size you want.
I think 5X7" is perfect for this wedding puzzle.
Cut your wedding photo out so that there is no edge.
Lightly spray the back with spray adhesive. Press this down onto the foam core board or thick cardboard.
Now, for what I think is the fun part of this craft project. You need to make you puzzle piece. Simply cut out your puzzle pieces, making sure they fit together and eventually cover the square footage you want.
Tip: Do not use decoupage to adherer your artwork to the puzzle pieces. As it dries it will bend the foam board as it dries.
Now, to package this you nee to buy some small white jewelry boxes, Chinese food boxes, or basic card board boxes. Drop the puzzle pieces inside.
You can also have smaller photos printed as well. Cut these out and glue them onto the side of your box so your wedding guests will know what the finished puzzle should look like.
One other fun and unique idea for this save the date project is to print out the information on top of the wedding photo. So, when you have your picture copied at Kinko's make sure they print it on paper you can put into your computer printer.
Write all the pertinent information on the photo so when you wedding guests put the save the wedding date puzzle together they know everything!
Wrap your boxes in brown paper and then address them to your wedding guests.
This is one save the wedding date invitation that no one will forget!
