Wedding Shower Gift Ideas

Although traditional weddings always feature a traditional bridal shower sometime before the main event, they don't usually include what's known as the "Jack and Jill" shower. A "Jack and Jill" shower hosts an event that features gifts for both the bride and groom and both men and women are invited to this type of party. Quite often, this type of bridal shower event is given when the bride and groom are paying the majority of the wedding expenses. Sometimes they are the preferred type of shower given by the mother of the groom.

Bar Gifts

Even if you aren't sure whether the bride and groom will have a bar in their home, on their deck, or in a screened lanai, you can purchase an attractive assortment of bar related items for a unique gift that offers something for both the bride and the groom. Not only are these gifts attractive and useful, but also, they range from the affordable to the expensive so everyone can find something they can afford to give.

For the groom select from among the following items that are typically favored by the men of the group: beer mugs, pint glasses, shot glasses, leather travel bar kit, portable beer cooler, deluxe corkscrew, cocktail shaker, wine bouquet aroma kit, personalized glasses and pitcher set, personalized beer stein, or a barkeep book of drink recipes. For an added touch, wrap the gift with bar mops or towels.

For the bride's share of this gift, consider the following items: margarita glasses, colorful swizzle sticks, martini cocktail set, cordial set, hand blown wine glasses, wine tags, decorative coasters, wine tote set, wine stoppers, decorative glassware, or an insulated ice bucket. Place the smaller items in an ice bucket for an added touch of style.

For the couple consider any of the following gifts that tend to be a bit pricier: a personalized sign with both names, a specialized drink concoction maker, marble photo coasters that use a series of the bride and groom's favorite pictures of themselves, stemless glasses and decanter set, insulated champagne case, or a deluxe picnic basket with wine storage compartment.

Grilling Pleasures

Sooner or later, most couples decide to purchase a grill for those wonderful weather days that tempt everyone outside. Since stocking up all of the necessary equipment can run into quite a cost, consider helping the happy couple out with a few well-thought out gift ideas. In most cases, this type of gift can be given to the couple rather than as separate gifts.

The following ideas are terrific ideas for that can be used outside without the presence of a grill: turkey fryer, outdoor rotisserie, or tailgating cooler with grill. For the couple who have the space for a grill, consider the following suggestions: an innovative combination fan and light for use at the grill for those late evening hours when the sun has set, remote control grill thermometer, personalized or monogrammed BBQ tool set, personalized branding irons for those summer steaks, personalized aprons and mitts- these are available with recipes for a happy marriage printed on them, fire extinguisher, or battery operated grill brush.

Alternatively, you can consider purchasing a membership for the bride and groom in the BBQ Sauce of the Month Club. They'll receive two unique flavors each month for a year. Other ideas include a prepaid once-a-month delivery of specialized meats for grilling or a griller's basket complete with grilling sauces, spices, barbecues, and tools.

Grill accessories such as potato griller, fish fry, skewers, hot dog griller, or a corn on the cob holder for the grill are also nice additions.

A personalized plaque for the deck area can be the perfect finishing touch for the couple's BBQ needs. Plus, grilling cookbooks, decorative and personalized BBQ platters, picnic tablecloths, and reusable BBQ place settings are gifts that the bride is sure to appreciate.

Spa Gifts

If you think that only women prefer the fresh scents, smooth feel, and luxurious results of a few spa gifts, think again. Even men like to pamper themselves every once in while, especially with some of the invigorating scents that bath products are available in today. Consider separate gifts or a combination gift for the couple. Either way, these are fun to purchase and give. Give the soon-to-be newlyweds a touch of bliss.

Gifts that might make a big hit with the bride include: a portable sauna, facial spa, foot spa, hand and foot spa, pedicure salon, aromatherapy products, or a basket containing conditioning creams, luxurious loofahs, purifying masques, pumice stones, bath oils, and bubble baths. The following could be considered as gifts for the groom foot massager, massage wands, or footbath.

For a combined gift for the couple, consider a massage chair, his and hers bed rests for those nights of reading together, his and hers massaging slippers with his and hers pillows or neck wraps, massaging cushions, paraffin bath, shower radio, deluxe tub length bath cushion, plush terry or velour his and her bath robes, or a heated towel rack.

Obviously, your budget is going to have a great deal of influence with the particular gifts that you purchase. Why not consider going in with you r sister, sister-in-law, or best friend to purchase one of the more expensive and therefore least likely gifts that the couple will receive?
