Thanksgiving gift baskets? Not again! Thanksgiving-themed calendar for next year. Yuck! What else is new? But then again, how can you say no to that? Gifts are something we should appreciate, especially if they are given with all sincerity. Now that Thanksgiving is just around the corner, why not try these unique gifts that your relatives will surely love.

Games

Whether it's a board game, a Mini Putt-Putt, or some family party trivia game, you're coming up with something exciting other than gorging on turkey for dinner. Some examples of great board games are: Diplomacy, Pow Wow, Clue, or Stock Ticker (see Boardgamegeek.com) What if grandma or grandpa can't play putt-putt? Maybe they can play the Wii. For $15, you can find a game that everyone can play without having to leave the living room on a cold November night.

Something for their pets...or their Harley-Davidson!

If you have grandparents to visit who own pets, it would mean so much to get something for the dear little dachshund. Whether it be some chewy bone or a new dog bed, your grandma will appreciate the fact that even though you only see her dog once a year, you still think about it as a member of the family. Now, if you have a grandpa that loves to ride motorcycles, something for the Harley-Davidson would probably bring a huge smile to his face.

Scentsy

This product is the solution for a wonderfully smelling room without worrying about candles catching fire. I thought about giving Scentsy because I attended a girly party and realized how great it is as a Thanksgiving gift to your relatives. Scentsy comes in a candle-free warmer (they use warmer bulbs) and a large collection of unique scents. Pick the one you feel is appropriate for the occasion as well as something your relatives can keep and use for the rest of the year. It's an awesome way to add a holiday feeling to their home. Scents warm up the senses and enhance the mood.

Unique Thanksgiving dish

Here's a clue: Find out where your gift recipient grew up as a child, and serve a dish native to that place!) For example, my mother-in-law grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and pretty much made the best crab cakes (according to my husband) and so wouldn't it be nice to come up with a unique crab cake recipe for Thanksgiving, just for her? A good source of unique crab cake recipes and all kinds of Thanksgiving food is All recipes.com.

Bathing Suit

You're probably thinking I'm a loony. Don't judge, because bathing suit as a gift is the most unique you can give for this occasion. You'd say, what do you need it for knowing it's going to be winter? Aren't you supposed to give warm clothes instead of a bathing suit? What a clown!

I thought a bathing suit is a great unique gift for Thanksgiving because it's an irresistible reason to stay in shape for next year! It will remind your recipient that they still have seven months to stay fit and look good before going out to the beach again. Have them hang the bathing suit where they can see it all the time. It will be constant reminder to work out, look slim, and stay in good health throughout the year...or at least until summer comes around again.
