On Asian continent there are many well known countries that are large and with a big population, for example countries like China, Philippines, Iran, Vietnam, India, Iraq, Pakistan, Israel, Thailand, Turkey and Japan. However, in Asia, there are also some small and less known countries, for example counties like Maldives, Bhutan, Qatar and Singapore. All of those countries have a very small population except for the Singapore.

Republic of Maldives is an island nation located in southern Asia in the Indian ocean. Maldives is located in the south-southwest of India. Maldives is the smallest Asian country in terms of both population and area. Also Maldives is the smallest predominantly Muslim nation in the world. The population of Maldives is about three hundred and fifty thousand people, which is the smallest population of all countries in the Asian continent. The official language of the Republic of Maldives is Dhivehi. The currency of the Republic of Maldives is Maldivian rufiyaa. Maldives is a great tourist destination and has majority of the economy based on tourism. The capital of the Republic of Maldives is called Male. The population of the city Male is about one hundred thousand people, which is approximately one third of the population of the whole country. State of Qatar is an Arab emirate in the Middle East that is bordered by Saudi Arabia to the south. The population of Qatar is about eight hundred thousand people. However, sometimes Singapore City (Downtown Core, Central Area) might be referred to as the unofficial capital of the Republic of Singapore. The Central Area contains the core financial and commercial districts in Singapore and approximately equates to the area which may be referred to as the city despite Singapore being a city in itself. Since most of the economy of Singapore is based on tourism, the country has a lot of great and high quality resorts, hotels, museums, parks, gardens and shopping centers. Asian continent is a very unique place. Asian countries are blessed with beautiful nature and are known to have great cuisine and unique culture. That's probably why so many Asian countries are popular travel destinations to millions of people from all over the world. However, unfortunately not so many people know of small Asian countries like Maldives, Bhutan, Qatar and Singapore. After all, those four Asian countries have got probably the most spectacular land in the whole Asian continent. Maldives, Bhutan, Qatar and Singapore are definitely great alternatives to more famous Asian travel destinations like Turkey or Japan and probably will become more and more famous in the future. However, in the mean time Maldives, Bhutan, Qatar and Singapore are still unique travel destinations.
