Here are two local houses where you can visit Santa and his helpers this year:
1. The Santa House in Swansea, IL is open and ready for visits from girls and boys. Tell Santa your wish for Christmas 2009! The Santa House is located at the McDonald Mobile Home Sales Lot at 2211 N.Illinois Street (Highway 159) in Swansea, IL. They offer photos with Santa for a small fee.
Beginning Friday, November 28, 2009, Swansea Santa's House visiting hours are as follows:
Fridays: 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Saturdays: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Sundays: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
2. The Belleville Santa House on the Public Square is another tradition for area residents. Visit their website at http://www.bellevillesantahouse.com/ to see a list of hours and prices for photographs with Santa. You can get your photograph stamped on a holiday mug or key chain if you prefer. The Belleville, IL Santa House is located on the Public Square in front of Bank of America at the junction of IL-Route 159 and Main street, Belleville, IL. During certain visiting hours, they provide cookies and hot cocoa free at this location! They also provide Trolley rides through the downtown area at specific dates and times.
A recent visit to Santa at the Belleville location was met with approval by my younger and older children alike. Be prepared to stand outside in the cold while waiting your turn in line, although the line moves relatively fast and is usually not very long.
Enjoy your visit with Santa and be sure to remind him of how good you have been this year!
