Uniquely Branding Your Business with Different Kinds of Communication

Potential customers today are endlessly bombarded with ads from an endless number of mediums, be it television, radio, email, direct mail, salespeople, or the Internet. With all this information being pounded onto consumers so fast, it is hard for marketers to make a lasting impression. That is why another approach has to be taken, something more personal and effective. If you just do it like everybody else, you are going to end up like everybody else.

To be successful, your business must constantly be in front of your customer. That is hard, considering how many other things are in front of them at the same time. Imagine a police lineup, with five short, dirty men all in a row, but one clean, tall man in the middle. You want to be the clean man, because he stands out among all the others. It is not as hard as you think to stand out, but it does take hard work.

The way you stand out is by how you communicate. After all, communication is how prospects find out you exist. To stand out, all you need to do is change the communication. Right now, most marketers send out advertisements to huge mobs of people, without separating them into smaller groups. You need to ask your prospects how they like to be contacted, and then split them up into groups based on their answers. For each group you have created, and there can be many, you must create a different message for them. Don't worry, there is software out there that can make grouping your prospects easier, and most of it is easy to learn and manage, so utilizing the chosen application correctly should not be a problem. The grouping method personalizes your ad campaign heavily, thus making it much more effective. Responses that used to be below 5% can shoot up three or more times that.

Personalization is not enough, you still must do more to stand out. Your ads must be creative, focused, and unique, yet all follow the same general scheme or format as to efficiently brand your business. When prospects do respond to the ads, make sure to personally follow up on them very quickly, to show how much you appreciate them. The goal of branding is beyond getting people to know you are there, it is getting them to know that you appreciate them, and once you have that, you have a customer for life.
