Uniquely "L.A." for Residents & Visitors

If you live in Los Angeles County you are probably aware of all the wonderfully close activities beckoning you (and your money) on a daily basis, whereas visitors to Los Angeles usually have a long sight-seeing list in hand, ready for travel action. But to see the most of L.A. in a day, for the least amount of money, the following list will certainly give it to you!

Free Activities to Schedule In Advance

1. Be the audience for your favorite Hollywood television sit-com, variety, or late-night talk show taping. Look up your favorite TV show online, to find out when and where they film (studio and sound stage) and order free tickets for your entire family. Arrive early and watch your favorite celebrities in action while taping their shows, for the cost of gasoline and parking.

2. The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade takes place every year on New Year's Day. This event is open and free to the public as outlined in the article "Insider's Tips". This is a very family-friendly, free activity if you enjoy camping out on the side of the road; or bring your camper trailer along for the comforts of home.

Free Activities Always Available

3. Driving around Los Angeles will cost you the price of gasoline, but there is so much to see. Free sights include the famous Hollywood Sign, the round Capitol Records building, and the Santa Monica beach pier (with fun zone) the last stop along the "U.S. Historic Route 66".

4. Drive into Hollywood, California, and pay to park your car along the famous Hollywood and Vine Streets. Walk the entire route of the nostalgic "Hollywood Walk of Fame" and see how many stars your family can recognize, by name alone, imprinted inside their star. You will run into the landmark Graumen's Chinese Theater and several others, while strolling down movie-memories lane, Hollywood Blvd.

5. Drive through the diverse neighborhoods of downtown Los Angeles, such as China Town to experience Asian-American cultural heritage, or the street fair atmosphere of Olvera Street for an authentic Mexican-American treat. Expect to pay for parking, but come in and mingle for free.

To enjoy some of the highlights that make Los Angels a special place to live, as well as a fun place to visit, you don't need a lot of money, or even a lot of time. Take the family with you, because there is a free day trip waiting for everyone in Los Angeles, California.
