I am imperfect yet you chastise me for it again
I understand you love perfection
But it is not the roadmap for excellence
I am not you so my thoughts aren't identical to yours
So don't criticize me if my conclusion is different than yours
I am not the image in your mental magazine
But I am beautiful just not your definition of what it means
I may not be the ideal person you want to see
But my personal acceptance lives inside of me
I won't let you push me around
But I have no anger in my heart for you
This is just my sincerest response
Although judged for being uniquely different
I refuse to wear a permanent frown
