United States Ghost Hunting Expeditions

Curiosity about the after-life has plagued humans for generations. Paranormal activity has become the topic of many television shows, numerous books and unlimited articles. For those of you interested in becoming a ghost hunter, there are several prime haunted locations throughout the United States to visit or stay.

The most famous haunted location in the United States is Alcatraz Island in San Francisco, California. There is a ferry ride available to take tourists to the island to visit Alcatraz. Creepy noises, odd smells are present throughout the building. You may be lucky enough to have a ghost sighting or at least feel the hair stand up on the back of your neck.

While in San Francisco, stay the the Brookdale Lodge. This haunted resort reports sightings of former employees and guests. The apparitions are stated to be walking the halls because of tragic deaths they had there in earlier times.

San Jose, California, has a haunt of it's own. The Winchester Mystery House provides guests with a lovely stay in one if it's beautiful 160 rooms. The Winchester Mystery House was built specifically to fool ghosts. There are several fake doorways, stairs to nowhere and secret passages found throughout the mansion.

Tennessee is home to John Bell's 19th century farmhouse. Located in Adams, the Bell Witch Farm was tormented for many years by a jealous witch. As soon as John Bell passed away, an untimely death as the tale has it, the witch stopped tormenting the farm but her ghost has lingered.

Amityville Horror House is located in Amityville, New York. This home is where Robert Defeo was drove made from hearing demonic voices. He murdered his entire family in the house. Visit the location and see if any demons speak to you.

Louisiana seems to be hot spot for notable haunted locations. New Orleans being the central location. Marie Laveau's House is where the Queen of Voodoo summoned forth the dead. The Lalaurie House is home to tortured slaves who still roam the property. A haunted ballroom is located at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. A friendly jazz player and doorman haunt the old Mafia - Maxwell's Toulouse Cabaret. Mad Doctor Pharmacy provides ghostly cries and spirits of individuals that died from gruesome medical experiments by the doctor. Experience the strange noises, voices, cold areas and electrical issue at the Southern Nights Bed and Breakfast.

Washington DC should not be forgotten when hunting for ghosts. President Abraham Lincoln is said to still haunt the bedroom at the White House. In the sub-terrain corridors of the US capital, the ghost of a cat is said to be seen if the nation is going to experience a tragedy. The Octagon House provides visitors with a possible witnessing of a ghost at the central stairway.

Visiting the numerous haunted locations throughout the United States will provide a look into the past while exploring the present. Be prepared for ghostly interaction.
